NewTone: Raising The Bar
Image-Line have released FL Studio 10 – One of the most immediate and exciting feature plugins of this latest installment is ‘NewTone’ Image-Line’s professional pitch correction and pitch manipulation editor.
‘NewTone’ as a pitch and time corrector fully integrates with FL Studio and allows you to auto-correct vocals, create harmonies and new tunes. ‘NewTone’ loads as an insert effect into a mixer insert channel. To use, simply drag and drop an audio file into ‘newTone’s interface and see the tones appear as blocks of pitch material set out on a linear ‘per bar’ time line. Choosing from the editing tools you can
alter volume levels, pitch duration, note position in the bar and ofcourse completely alter or just correct the pitch. A very handy feature in ‘newTone’ is the ability to create a midi file of the pitch material by clicking on the button options top right of the interface. You can also send a copy of the newly edited audio file to the playlist for further processing.
Anyone use to handling Edison or Slicex will be straight at home with ‘NewTone’, it is easy to use and great fun when applied to non-vocal material too. ‘newTone’ is sleek by design and sits well with the visual eye candy upgrades that Image-Line have introduced throughout the entire version 9 series of FL Studio upgrades.
‘NewTone’ is not free. It is issued in demo mode with FL Studio 10 with all saving options muted. The plugin needs to be purchased through the Image-Line store.
A fully functional demo of FL Studio is available for download. Should you purchase FL Studio you will receive Life-Time Free Updates to all future versions of the product. Spend a minimum of $90 on ANY Image-Line products and receive a 10% reduction…
